Jan. 01, 1954 - Miss America prepares for Broadcast: Twenty year old Miss Evelyn Ay - winner of the Miss America beauty title for 1954 who arrived in London only this morning went to the Aeolian Hall, New Bond Street to rehearse for the broadcast of In Town Tonight. Miss Ay beside winning the beauty title received prizes totalling nearly £18, 000 including a University grant. She is a student of technology at Pennsylvania University.
