But she is not doing it for her own ends, for she has a fourteen year old brother John, who is a wheelchair victim of muscular dystrophy, a disease which cripples and kills thousands of children every year and everything that Caroline earns goes to the muscular dystrophy group who finance 15 research centers for research work, so that she can help her brother and others like him.
