Nov. 11, 1966 - Life Is Not So Simple For Miss World: Being Miss World is rather more completed than 23-year old Reita Faria - Miss India - expected. Yesterday she paid a courtesy call on Dr. Jiraj Mehta the Indian High Commissioner in London and discovered that she had upset the Indian Government. Later, as she toured the Pestalozzi International Children's Village at Sedlescombe, Susssex, she said: The Commissioner did not seem very pleased about my planned trip to South Vietnam. He told me: You realise you will be going to the battlefield, and then explained that India is against the war. Miss Faria has signed a contract to tour American bases in the Far East, including Vietnam, with comedian Bob Hope. When she goes home next month government officials will discuss the trip with her. But yesterday, with Indian children at Sedlescombe, political controversy was far away. The situation was uncomplicated - it was the sort of cuting Miss World expected.
