Sep. 09, 1967 - Japanese Beauties chosen for two world contests: The annual contest to elect delegates to the 1968 Miss World and Miss International beauty contests, was held in Tokyo. Forty seven girls from all parts of Japan competed in the final selection. Miss Chikako Sotoyama, aged 23, was elected Miss World candidate, and Miss Yoko Sunami, aged 18 was elected Miss International candidate. Miss Sunami will represent Japan at the Miss International contest to be held at Long beach, California, next April, and Miss Sotoyama will represent Japan in London in November during the Miss World contest.
