Jul. 07, 1967 - Girls Step out in Shirts; Three girls stepped out in shirts yesterday. They stopped the traffic and had head turning. tights, mob-bloomers, bowler hats and rolled umbrellas completed the gentlewoman-about town touch. They were walking round Carlisle's City center to advertise a one day shirt cleaning service. The girls, left to right, are: 18 year old Pat Rice, of Orshard Croft, Carge (Cumb), a hotel management students; 20 year old student teacher, Mary Wilson, of Kirkefoft, Gretna (Dumfrieshire), and 18 year old Jane Armstrong, of Roseberry Road, Carlisle, a hotel management student. The laundry is Lakeland Laundries (Carlisle) Ltd. They all agreed; We have to put up with a lot of stares and coney comments. But its all good fun
