Nov. 11, 1969 - The Tintometer Limited: Miss Rainbow - 19-years old Jenney Scarle - is subjected to a Tintometer test by a colour measuring instrument made by a Salisbury company. For the test she wore fifteen items - from pink bikini to purple eye-shadow - in whose manufacture colour control is vital. The purpose was to illustrate in an attractive way how accurate control of colour is important in an almost endless rangs of industries and processes. The Tintometer uses red, yellow and blue glass filters to match up to 9, 000, 000 different colour combinations. It was first produced for the study of skin and hair, but it is now being used in a very wide range of industries and processes including brewing, plastic, cosmetics, packaging, food, pharmaceuticals and paint
