Bee Gees In 250, 000-Dollar-Record Deal : The Bee Gees figure in the biggest ever dollar record deal to involve a new group. In a five year American Record release contrast with the Atlantic label they are collecting a quarter million dollars. The Bee Gees will make a promotional tour of 14 American cities in as many days to coincide with the issue of their first Atlantic record. This is the outcome of discussions in New York between the Group's personal manager Robert Satinwood, president of Atlantic Records of America. Negotiations took place when Satinwood Went to New York, accompanied by 19-year-old Barry Gibb, lead singer of the Bee Gees. New York mining Disaster, 1941 written by Bee Gees, Robin and Barry Gibb, is to be the first Atlantic Records single to be issued in America during the first week of May
