1953 - King with swarm net and pipe: A crown of flowers, swarm net and pipe are the insignia of King Otto I of Schatensen and Eimke. His civil name is Otto Muller and he is the only bee-king in Germany. The election of the bee-king is a many centuries old custom which was known in former times everywhere in the Lueneburger heath and nearly in all parts of Germany. Only this one will be king who has the best and richest harvest of honey of the year and who has the best bees
