Aug. 08, 1957 - Tommy Steele's mum moves out of her Bermondsey home to take over their 000 house. There was no time for rock n'roll when the hicks family, of Bermondsey, moved house today. They were moving from their 21-shilling- a week terraced home in freon-street to the 000 detached house that 20-year-old teenage idol Tommy Steele has bought them in Ravenbourne park, Catford, Tommy, the boy from Bermondsey, now in the, 500-a-week class, was not with his family today as he is appearing in a shows at Blackpool. photo shows Tommy steel's mother and his sister Sandra say goodbye to neighbors as they leave their Bermondsae home for the 000 house at Catford today
