Jun. 06, 1965 - Launching the tanker Sir Winston Churchill': The 95, 000-ton tanker, Sir Winston Churchill, was launched yesterday at Swan Hunter and Wigham Richards Yard, at Wallsend. Spectators climbed a nearby wall to watch the monster tanker which slid into the Tyne with very little margin to spare. Mrs. Beryl Maudling performed the launching ceremony.
