Beverly Sills, American opera singer, and daughter Muffy

Dec. 12, 1970 - 11-year-old Muffy who is deaf arrives here for her opera Mother's British debut at Covent Garden. Beverly Sills, the idol of America's opera public, makes her British debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, on Wednesday December 23rd. Her 11-year-old daughter, Muffy has come here for the occasion. Muffy adores opera yet the sad thing is that she has never heard her mother sing a note, for she is deaf. Beverly is now rated on both sides of the Atlantic as something special among operatic sopranos.
