Feb. 02, 1954 - Blessing the throat ceremony in London. Annual Catholic service at st.Etheldreda's. The traditional Blessing of the Throat Ceremony was carried out this morning at St.Etheldreda's, Holbein, this morning - know as the Feast of st. Blaise. It is said that in A.d. 316, Blaise, while he was being marched to his execution, saw a child choking with a fish bone in her throat, He touched her throat and healed it.
