Apr. 21, 1955 - The Pope views 13th. century paintings at the Vatican: One of the most unique art exhibitions in the world is being held at the Vatican, Pope Pius XII has inaugurated the showing of paintings by Beato Angelico - the 13th Century artist who died in 1455. The paintings were collected from all parts of the world for the exhibition. Photo shows the Pope looks up at some of the large canvasses by Beato Angelico at the exhibition
