1957 - New Epstein Statue Unveiled At Llandaff Cathedral. Supported By The Great Arch: The restored Nave of Llandaff Cathedral which was damaged by a Land Mine in 1941 - was to be seen this afternoon - and the latest work by Sir Jacob Epstein - a 16ft. aluminum statue of, Christ was Unveiled. It has been set in a great arch constructed across the Nave. The work is named The Maestas'. The Nave was damaged by a Land Mine in 1941.
