Feb. 25 The cemetery attached to the little church built by the English East India Company where many well known people have been buried. The first person to be buried there was Mary Morrison (1828) the wife of Robert Morrison who translated the Old and New Testaments into Chinese, and compiled the first Chinese-English Dictionary at t time when Chinese were forbidden to teach foreigners their language. Also buried there: the poet and painter George Chinnery who lived in Macao from 1825 to his death, 1852, and the Right. Hon. Lord John Spenser Churchill, 4th son of th 5th Duke of Marlborough who died in 1840 aboard H.M. Frigate David
