Oct. 10, 1959 - The Vicar weds a barmaid: Ex-barmaid Catherine Ling married the vicar yesterday at the village of Whitwell, in the Isle of wight. The Rev. John Elliott Roberts, 45-year-old former naval chaplain, met Catherine, aged 32, when she worked at a local hotel bar. The wedding was conducted by the vicar's brother, the Bishop of Mallmesbury, Wiltshire. Photo shows the Rev.
