Bible - Cardinals - Churches - Monks - Nuns

Feb. 29 Cowboy Vicar: For forty years the Rev Peter Birkett has been fighting a good gunfight. Now the country vicar with a passion for the old west is retiring to ride the range in earnest. Next month he will leave his medeaval church at Holford, Somerset, and start a ranch hand's job in the wilds of British Columbia. The 64 year old widower will swap his Georgian restory for a log cabin and his dress will be unusual, for years the only time the cowboy vicar has not worn his range clothes has been in church. Even then he always wears his pointed boots under his cassock. But the lean 6ft 2inch vicar who looks and talks like a texan, stresses that his interest are not crancky. For many years is have been a serious student of every aspect of life in Frontier America from the time of the Conquistadores to the gunman of the wild west.
