Aug. 08, 1964 - Girl Freed - from the Brethren. Big Jim Taylor - Refuses to comment.: A judge yesterday ordered that a 10 year old girl should be freed from an intolerable doctrine practiced by the Exclusive Brethren. Mr. Justice Pennycuick said in the High Court that the girl, who was not named, has attended meetings of the strict religious sect since she was eight. So had her parents, until the Brethern came under the influence of Big Jim taylor - the Sect's American leader. Thenea principle of separation developed - a principal which forbade members of social contact with anyone, including their own families, who were not in fellowship'. The girl's father, a college lecturer in the North of England quit the Exclusives because of this ruling - and his wife left him - taking her daughter - as she was deeply and fanatically committed to the Brethren. the Judge said that now the girl must live with her father. Photo shows Big Jim Taylor - American leader of the fanatical Exclusive Brethren meets some of his young followers after yesterday's meeting of the Brethren in the Manchester Free Trade Hail. He refused to comment
