Jun. 06, 1965 - the odd one out - the nun who can wear what she likes.: At he add nun out at a fashion preview yesterday was Mother Provincial Jeanne Wauters. She wore a smart fawn two-piece tweed suit with a matching straw hat. Photographers tried to exclude her from the group before she convinced them that she, too was a nun. Mother Jeanne, from the order of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, explained that she was in the habit, so to speak, of wearing modern dress. Members of her Order have done so since the order was founded during the French Revolution, when to wear religious habit often meant the guillotine. Mother Jeanne joined nuns from 92 other orders at Earls Court, London, for the biggest exhibition - The Vocations Exhibition - ever held by the Roman Catholic Church in Britain.
