Oct. 10, 1965 - Son of a Fijian Chief ordained a priest at Westminster Cathedral.; A Fijian, the Rev. Beato Ratuloco, the son of Ratu Vika, the chief of Solevu, on the island of Vanua Levu, Fiji, was ordained by the Bishop of Fiji, the Rt. Rev Victor Foley, who was born at Sandgate, Kent. The Bishop went to Fiji as a newly ordained priest in 1936 and was appointed Bishop eight years later. After the ordination ceremony the rev. Ratuloco's many Fijian friends in England offered their congratulations in the Scared Heart Hall, Horseferry Road, according to their native custom. Photo shows The Bishop of Fiji, the Rt. Rev. Victor Foley, is seen receiving a half coconut shell containing a mixture of powdered root from Fijian plant, mixed with water, as part of the native Fijian custom which was carried out in the Sacred Heart hall after the ordination ceremony thick took place earlier at Westminster Cathedral
