Aug. 25, 1970 - Kerala Novices Deny Nun-Running': Five young novice nuns said last night that there was no truth in allegations than an international nun-running racket was being operated from the Indian state of Kerala. The nuns were sent to England from their homes in Kerala two years age by Father Cyriac Puthenpura, the priest named as being a leading figure in the traffic.Today they are happy and devoted members of the religious teacher's Fillipini order at St.Lucy's Convent, Medstead, near Alton, Hants. The eldest of the five novices, Sister Rosa, 26, said: Fr Cyriac is a good man and the people love him.None of us was forced to come here and we never heard of any girls in Kerala who were forced to become nuns.
