May 05, 1971 - Buddhist temple in Berlin - Wesak - celebration on May 9th: On a hill in the north of Berlin (Germany), not far from the zonal boundary, medicine Dr, Paul Dahlke had let build a Buddha-Temple in the years 1922-1924 for the Buddhist community founded by him. The Buddhist temple is unique in Europe and is subordinated to the Ceylonese embassy in Bonn. On May 9th the Week - ceremony, the most important Buddhist festive day, will be celebrated. As to the Buddhist era 2515-1971. Buddhists from whole Europe are expected. A Buddhist monk at the Elephants-door, an original gate for the East with Asiatic signs and inscriptions
