Feb. 02, 1972 - Annual Blessing the throats ceremony: The annual ceremony of Blessing the Throats was held today at St. Ethelreda's Church, Ely Palace, Holborn. The ceremony is performed in memory of St. Blaise, Bishop of Sabaste who was on his way to execution when he met a child choking with a fishbone stuck in his throat. The Bishop touched the child's throat and healed it. Photo shows Father O'Malley, the Rector of St. Ethelreda's performing the Blessing the Throats ceremony today
