Sep. 26, 1975 - African Roman Catholic Prelates And Cardinals Meet Near Rome To discuss The Role Of the Church In Africa: About 50 African Roman Catholic Prelates including five cardinals, have met in a villa in Frascati, near Rome, to discuss the role of the church in Africa The churchmen feel that they must be allowed certain aspects of Catholic practice and rites to suit African conditions, although they emphasized that they are not seeking total independence from Rome.
