Jun. 24, 1972 - Eighty Churches At Abbey Service For The Deaf - Hymns And Blessing In Sign Language: Contingents of deaf people from 80 churches throughout Britain were in the congregation of 1, 000 attending a service in Westminster Abbey today, to mark the Goldein Jubilee of the Church of England Council for the Deaf. The service was conducted by the Dress of Westminster, Rev. Eric. S. Abbott, through a corps of sign-language interpreters standing on rostrums placed at interval through the church. Photo shows A choir of 20 ladies are seen leading the hymns in sign-language during the service in the Abbey this afternoon
