Jul. 24, 1978 - 450 Bishops At Lambeth Conference: 450 Anglican bishops from nearly 100 countries arrived in Canterbury for the Lambeth Conference over the week-end. The conference which takes place very 10 years at the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury, starts work today, when it breaks into three sections to consider the theme Today's Church in Today's World'. Photo shows Bishops from overseas waiting on the Embankment in London on Saturday, to collect luggage labels before leaving for the Lambeth Conference at Canterbury. Heading the queue are Bishop Arthur Vogel, from West Missouri, and Bishop Albert van Duzer of New Jersey, USA
