Bicycles - Cycling

Jan. 01, 1953 - The End Of A Year In The Saddle Scots/Frenchman Cycles 62785 Miles - In 12 Months: Scots-French Cyclist Rene Menzies who is 63 completed his year's cycling this morning having travelled 62, 785 miles. This distance beat the record set up by Australia's Ossie Nicholson in 1937 - and is all the more remarkable in view of the fact that Menzies had to abandon the ride for 24 days because of a broken collar bone. Photo shows Rene Menzies is congratulated by his wife - at the end of his great ride in Parliament Square this morning
