Bicycles - Cycling

Feb. 29 Pretty Lids for Ton Up Kids.. That's what Joan de Bethel of Sussex wanted to see on the heads of the young as they roared past her Tudor home near Rye on their motorcycles. Mrs. Bethel and her husband David were theatrical designers ('Airs on a Shoestring, Crazy Gang and other revues) and thinking how tatty the motorcycle crash helmets were, they set to and started decorating some with traditional British designs and some witty ditties. The helmets were a roaring success, and a Chelsea gear shop soon started ordering them from the delighted Bethels. Allow me, my dear, this pretty girl with her gazly painted skid lid inspires old fashioned chivalry in her tin hatted boyfriend who also sports the latest in crash helmets
