Feb. 02, 1966 - PISTOL-PACKING MOTHER OFF AN A CYCLE TO TURKEY. MRS AHMAD 59, year-old widow of Lodge Land, Dagenham Essex, leaves today on a Nine Months Cycle tour to Turkey and back, Mrs Ahmad is no stranger to this county as she has already been their five time on visits but this is the first time by Cycle. Widowed since her husband died in a car crash five years ago Mrs Ahmad has six children but the youngest is 16 and away in a boarding school, so she has no ties and feels that this is an ideal time to return to the country that she loves. The only thing that Mrs Ahmad does not like is dogs which have attacked her during other trips to Turkey, so she asked the police for a firearm certificate which was granted.
