Lods between and 18 years old congregate to take part in Britain's fastest growing sport-bicycle motorcross or BMX for short. The youngsters ride specially made bikes with heavy - duty tires which are ideal for bumpy-cross country tracks. Freestyle BMX is like gymnastics on a bicycle. The Dare Devil riders turn back flips, bunny hops, and the incredible wheelies. The sport originated in California and all riders must wear c helmets, long sleeved skirts, goggles and gloves. Races are held all over the country every week-end drawing thousands of spectators to watch these youngsters leap, spin and turn somersaults in the air
