May 02, 1955 - Big Four Begin Talks on Austrian Pact. The Big Four talks which may bring freedom to occupied Austria and big changes in Europe opened in Vienna today. The ambassadors of Britain, the United States, France and Russia, began conferences in an effort to reach final agreement on Austria's long delayed peace treaty. The Austrian Foreign Minister, Dr. Leopold Figi, and State Secretary, Herr Kreisky, took part.
