Aug. 08, 1967 - The Big Dig Bank holiday competition for 60, 000 worth of prizes at Camber Sands: Today 100 winners of a Gillette Super Silver Competition were taking part in a Big Dig contest at Camber Sands, near Rye, to find 60, 000 worth of prizes ranging from a 6, 000 silver Maserati Mistral, to a racing pigeon. Each competitor, accompanied by an assistant of their choice, were issued shovels and allocated plots to dig on the two acres of sand where the prizes had been buried last night.
