Jul. 08, 1973 - Bjorn Borg Wins The Wimbledon Title For The Third Time Running To Equal Fred Perry's Record: Today on the centre court at Wimbledon Bjorn Borg won the men's singles title by beating Jimmy Connors 6-2 6-2 6-3. This makes it three in a row for Borg making him only the second player in the history of the game to do this, the other is the famous Fred Perry.
