Bleriot aircraft being overhauled, Old Warden Aerodrome

Mar. 03, 1967 - An Aircraft built by flying Pioneer Louis Bleriot in 1909 will soon fly again It is one of the only two such machines known to be in existence. Bleriot built the aircraft, a single engined monoplane, following his successful flight across the English Channel in 1909. It is being overhauled by the staff at the Shuttleworth Collection (of old aircraft, cars, and bicycles) at Old Warden Aerodrome, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. The present owner, London businessman Mr Leslie Goldsmith, had the rotting relic flown to England from a Belgian engineering firm near Liege.
