BOAC Stratocruiser aircraft crashes, Prestwick Airport

Dec. 25, 1954 - A Plane Crash At Prestwick Airport: A BOAC Stratocruiser crashed at Prestwick Airport early today and set on fire, it was like an Inferno, flames soaring thirty to forty feet high. There are twenty-eight dead and five injured. The Captain and his operating crew got out through the burning nose of the aircraft. It took two hours before they had got the fire under control. Some of the people aboard the plane were going to Scotland for Christmas.
