Feb. 26 Sweden Wins International Junior Regatta Championship. Sweden's team of 4 teenage mariners have won the 1966 International Optimist Dinghy Regatta championship held at Miami, Florida. Denmark's team came second with the U.S. team placing third. Six nations entered the event including 4th place Finland, 5th West Germany, and last England. Twenty-four entries aged 9 to 16 years of age sailed the course over Biscayne Bay. The annual regatta was sixth in the international series. Previous events were held in England in 1962, Sweden 1963, Denmark 1964, and Finland 1965. Photo Shows:- Denmark's team of proud young mariners - they came in second in the international event.
