Feb. 29 Department Of Public Information City of West Palm Beach West Palm Beach, Florida; Cutline West Palm Beach, Fla. - Blistered But Happy - Champion And Runner-Up Of Two Major Ocean Races Display Their Battle Scars And Prepare To Go At It Again. Bearded marine engineering designer, Jimmy Wynne (left) and boat builder, Don Aronow, fought 180 miles of 6 to 8 foot waves to finish first and second, respectively, in last year's West Palm Beach, Fla. to Luya-Freeport, Grand Bahama Gateway Marathon Race. They repeated those first and second place winning positions last month, in the Miami to Nassau power boat event. This coming June 4, 5 and 6, when Wynne and Aronow meet again in the 3rd Annual Gateway Marathon, sponsored by the City of West Palm Beach, tension will mount to a fever pitch! For they'll be fighting not only each other, but 40 or 50 equally as tough power crafts in a longer 280-mile, 3-leg competition. They'll also fight for the coveted Governor's Cup perpetual trophy and the Biggest Ocean Racing Purse In This Hemisphere - 0, 000 or above!
