1964 - Sovereign'Shows her paces.: Trials are being held in Weymouth Bay to decide who shall have to chance to race for Britain against who shall have the chance to race for Britain against America for the America's Cup. The present trials are between Sceptre and Sovereign, each with a crew of 10 of whom 11 will be chosen to crew Sovereign and even then, British yacht Kurrewa V in further trials that will take place before the race in September. Scepter was the yacht which carried out Britain's last unsuccessful challenge for the cup.Photo shows Sovereign at speed during the trials in Weymouth Bay
