Jul. 07, 1969 - Young crew in smallest power boat.: Youngest of the crews of the 50 entries so far received for the Daily Telegraph - B.P. Round Britain Powerboat Race is that of the Psychedelic Surfer. The boat will also be the smallest to set off on the 1, 700 mile test if semanship and stamina when Prince Philip fires to the starting marcon from Southsea beach, Porstmouth, on Saturday week. The crew are : Graenmo Dillon, 21, and John Cauloutt, 22, both of Yarmouth, Isel of Wight, drivers, and Lieut. Sin De'Ath 21, Royal Marines, of Liss, Hants, mechanic. The boat is a 20ft 9 in inflatable powered with tiwn Mercury 50 h.p. cutboards. It can further claim to be the youngest entry in that it has been designed, built and launched within the last month. Adnml. Dmond Kr, Principal of Atlantic College, St. Donat's Glen is the designer. Two Dutch students, who had completed two eyars at the college built the rubber and plywood craft.
