Feb. 07, 1970 - Britain's new racing car the March 701 with World Champion Jackie Stewart at the wheel: A brand new British Racing Car called March 701 with World Racing Car Champion Jackie Stewart at the wheel was demonstrated at the Silverstone racing circuit yesterday. It was Stewart's time in the March 701 Grand Prix car which makes its European debut in the Daily Mail Race of Champions on March 22, Stewart the 30 year old Scot who has switched from the French-built Matra to drive this new car. The car is built by March Engineering Ltd in their factory at Biester, Oxfordshire. The car will be entered privately in the race by Mr Ken Tyrrell, a Surrey Timber merchant.
