Aug. 08, 1972 - Italian Wins the Daily Telegraph and B.P. International Power Boat Race. Carlo Bonomi, of Italy, drove his 1, 000 H.P. Aeromarine 1x to an exciting victory in the Daily Telegraph and B.P. International Power Boat Race at Poole, Dorset, yesterday, with an average speed of 59.05 knots. He beat off strong challenges from the British competitors who occupied the next six places in the 151 nautical mile course.
