Jul. 07, 1938 - Viking Ship Leaves for New York. The Norwegian Viking ship The Vikings, left Bergen Harbour on Thursday, bound for New York, with seven men aboard. They hope to complete the journey in 25 days. Owing to strong winds the ship had to use its motor instead of sails on leaving the harbour.
