Oct. 07, 1953 - Denmark has the World's First Gas tanker.: View of the Rasmus Tholstrup - the first tanker in the world specially built for carrying liquid gas in tanks. The gas is loaded into 12 vertical tanks, taking 320 tons of gas in all. The ship was constructed by a Danish engineer, and built at Gothenburg, Sweden as the Danish shipyards are full engaged until next year
