Mar. 03, 1954 - Works starts on reconditioning the Cutty Sark'. Most famous sailing vessel to become a museum: The work of removing the rigging and dismantling the tip masts, yards etc. started aboard the world's most famous sailing ship Cutty Sark in the East India Import Dock, today. This is prior to the reconditioning of the vessel for the Cutty Sark Preservation Society - and eventually the vessel will be come an extersion to the Greenwich Maritime Museum..
