Aug. 08, 1954 - ADMIRALTY SALVAGE ORGANISATION WORK ON LIFTING FRENCH DESTROYER IN THE CLYDE. The Admiralty Salvage Organisation are now working on what is probably their largest lifting operation they have ever tackled.It is on the French destroyer MAILLE BREZE which sank in the Cyde in 1940 owing to the explosion of her own torpedoes. The lift is one of about 3, 500 tons and is being carried out by two 1, 200 ton and two 750 ton Admiralty Lifting Craft with thirty six nine inch hawser under the hull of the vessel..each hawser is 330 feet in length..
