Aug. 08, 1954 - Four men in a boat return after double crossing of the Atlantic.: The four members of the 62ft. converted lifeboat, Aries three of them Londoners, first adventurers to make a double crossing of the Atlantic in so small a boat without sails - sailed up the Themes today. In a 45 ton craft, they had crossed the atlantic twice. Skipper of the Aries was Captain C. Harcourt Smith, ex-naval officer and the other members of the crew are Lieut. Commander tom Higrt, R.N.R. navigator of the boat, sub Lieutenent Edwin Skelton, RNVR, radio instructor to the Kingston sea cadets, and Davidfoden, 18, boat's engineer.
