Jan. 16, 1953 - Getting Ready for 30, 000 Mile Voyage in Yacht. Six Members aboard the Asta'. A party of nine people are preparing their 88 tons ex German Ketch Asta in the Hamble River, Hampshire for the start of their 30, 000 miles Roundabout voyage to San Fransisco via the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, Ceylon and the East Indies. The Vessel will be under the command of Frenchmen Richard Aramburu who was a fisherman in South America and who comes from Marseilles.
