Jul. 07, 1954 - German ship Goes Around Near St. Ives.. Cargo Vessel on the Rocks.. Six German sailors and a dog were rescued when their cargo ship Traute Sarnow went aground in dense fog near the Coastguard station at Gurnard's Head, about six miles from St. Ives, Cornwall. The vessel was on on way from Cardiff to Ostend with cargo of about 500 tons of coal and was under the command of her owner Capt. Henrich Sarnow of Tarp. Flensburg..
