Nov. 11, 1954 - The Dock Strike Threatens To Spread. Idle Shipping In The Pool Of London: Many crowds of idle dockers - and dozens of idle ships were to be seen in the Tooley Street, Bermondsey - wharf area this morning - following the strike of 2, 500 dockers who refused to work on lorries driven by non-Union men - or those who worked during the big October Strike.
