Feb. 02, 1955 - Ex Navy Corvette to Search Out for Oil.. The S.S. Seislim at Surrey Commercial Docks.. The S.S. Seislim an Ex Navy Corvette is being specially fitted out at Surrey Commercial Docks and leaves at the end of the week to search for oil under tropical waters.. She will drop explosives - and the effect will be recorded as the shock waves rebound from the sea bed - on the delicat instruments aboard.. Keystone Photo Shows: General view of the S.S. Seislim at Surrey Commercial Docks - with the Heliport landing stage at rear, from which the reports can be collected while the vessel continues her explorations - thus it is not necessary for her to return to port and will be able to make he best possible use of the weather conditions
